Mission Statement
The College of Agriculture, Science and
Education, a multidisciplinary tertiary
institution, is committed to providing
education and training of the highest
quality in agriculture, science, and teacher
education (and allied disciplines) to men
and women in Jamaica, and also other
Caribbean countries, through teaching,
research and outreach.

The College of Agriculture, Science and
Education is committed to the creation of a
democratic atmosphere in which students can
develop maturity, responsibility and
self-discipline. The College specializes in
career-oriented professional and liberal
education, which prepares its students to
make significant contributions in many areas
of community and national development.

Ownership,
Governance and Administration of the College
The College of Agriculture, Science &
Education is owned by the people of Jamaica
and operated through the Ministry of
Education Youth & Culture.

Academic
Organization of the College
CASE is a multi-disciplinary institution.
Academically, the college is organized into
four major units: Faculties of Agriculture,
Science, and Education, as well as a
Directorate of Community College &
Continuing Education Programmes. Faculties
are further sub-divided into academic
departments.

Organization of the College
The Vice-President, Human Resource
Management and Administration is the
college’s Chief Operating Officer. The
following units, reporting to the Vice
President, fall under the Division of HRM
and Administration:

The Student Council is the voice of the
general student population. It acts as the
liaison between the student and
administration.

Overview
The College of Agriculture, Science and
Education (CASE) is nestled on a 254-hectare
campus caressed by the lush green hillsides
and pristine coastline of the parish of
Portland in eastern Jamaica.

More about the College
CASE is registered as a Tertiary Institution
by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ),
Jamaica’s National Accreditation Body. The
ASc degrees in Natural Sciences and General
Agriculture have been accredited by the UCJ.
