Ownership
The College of Agriculture, Science & Education
is owned by the people of Jamaica and operated
through the Ministry of Education Youth & Culture.
Legal Standing of the Institution In
exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister
by section 13(2) of the Education Act, the College
of Agriculture, Science and Education Scheme Order,
1995 was approved effective October 1, 1995 and
gazetted on Monday, January 1, 1996. (Jamaica
Gazette Supplement, Proclamations, Rules and
Regulations, Monday January 1, 1996) Board of

The Board of Management is the governing
authority of the college and has power under the
College of Agriculture, Science and Education Scheme
(1995) to, inter alia:
- Manage and maintain the College as a college
for providing full-time and part-time education
and training in the fields of agriculture,
science and teacher training for primary and
secondary education.
- Review and approve arrangements for the
holding of examinations leading to the award by
the Board or any recognized body, of degree,
diploma, certificate or any other award to
persons who have pursued an approved course of
study at the college.
