On behalf of the Faculty of Science, I extend to
you a warm welcome.
Science and Technology are the building blocks for
industrial and economic development of any nation.
Jamaica’s own development is intricately linked to a
workforce of highly skilled scientists with an
orientation to technology. Consistent with our
mission, ‘the relentless pursuit of excellence’, the
Faculty of Science is committed to providing
education and training of the highest quality and
thus providing the technology competent workforce.
This Catalogue provides information on our
academic programmes, regulations, services,
facilitates and staff. I implore you to use this
information to your best advantage and maximize on
your opportunity here at CASE. As always, the
Faculty of Science is open to address your concerns
and to consider new ideas and suggestions for you.

Descriptive Summary of the Faculty
Whereas the Faculties of Agriculture and Education are the natural
successors of the former College of Agriculture and
the Passley Gardens Teachers’ College, respectively,
the Faculty of Science was given birth with the
establishment of the College of Agriculture, Science
and Education in 1995. Without the benefit of
forebears, the Faculty of Science has now
established itself as a pivotal plank in the
execution of the challenging tripartite (teaching,
research, and outreach) mission of CASE, by making
the relentless pursuit of excellence its raison
d’être. The activities of the Faculty include:
1. Supporting Role The Faculty of Science
coordinates and delivers courses in mathematics,
computer studies, and science for students in the
Faculties of Agriculture and Education.
